Evaluation

My magazine design follows the conventions of real media products, you can see this as i have placed everything in the places they usually are on real magazines for example, the barcode, date and price are in the bottom right corner and the name and logo of the magazine in the top left corner.

My magazine represents informal social groups as i've used slang words such as pics instead of pictures. it's representative of normal sixth form students. A media institution like first news might distribute this type of magazine as they make fictional magazines and dont make things up which my magazine doesnt do either, also because its about real people and not celebrities would make them distribute it. The audience for my product would be kids from the age of 11-18 and parents of those children as the kids would be intrested in whats happening in their school as would the parents.

I addressed my audience informally to make it more comfortable to read and i think that they would prefer to be informally spoken to. I learnt the conventions of this type of media and what works and what doesnt for a magazine. I also found that everything needs a reason to be on the front cover of a magazine nothing can be random.

Initial ideas for my coursework

For our final piece of coursework we can either create a moving image piece or a printed piece. I have initially chose to do a printed piece for my coursework as i am intrested in magazines and believe i will get more out of the task, I also think writing magazine articles will help me for english aswell as media. Last year for our gcse's i also chose to do a printed piece, that time i created film posters for my final piece.

Im Joe and i have chosen media because i am interested in the subject and it seems that everything today involves the media in some form. I would like to use the subject in future jobs which also involve sport. i watch alot of films from all sorts of genre's some films i like are- I love you man, Superbad, Bad Boys 2, Green Street, The Haunting in Conneticut and Saw. I like music my favourites are Oasis, Kasabian and loads of random stuff like dnb and dubstep. I read the sun newspaper cause its good for sport.
